The governor, who was represented by chairman of Doguwa Local Government Area Ali Abdul Doguwa, who spoke in Abuja at a fund-raising dinner for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Plateau State, Hon. Simon Lalomg, accused PDP governors of avoiding to publicly campaign for its presidential candidate because of Jonathan’s alleged poor performance.

ThisDay reports that Kwankwaso insisted that PDP-elected governors were concentrating on their campaigns and leaving out that of President Jonathan over anxiety that campaigning for the president could harm them politically, ThisDay reports.

“We in APC are proud of all our candidates from the bottom to the top. Anywhere we go, we ask people to vote for our candidates and for Buhari. We don’t hide Buhari. We advertise him for all to see because we are very proud of him. We are not like PDP where the candidates build a house and stop when the get to the intel level. The PDP governors ask people to vote for their candidates in the states but cannot tell people to vote for Jonathan because they know Jonathan has not performed,” he said.

Kwankwaso, however, attributed the success of the Kwankwasiyya ideology in Kano to his excellent performance as governor.

The governor, who lost the APC presidential ticket to General Muhammadu Buhari, said Lalong is the man to beat in Plateau State, saying he is the symbol of change the state deserved and predicted victory for APC at the presidential and state elections.

Speaking also at the campaign rally, Governor, Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, described Lalong’s fundraising by Plateau indigenes residing in Abuja as a demonstration of the wide acceptance of his candidacy.

Al-Makura, who was represented by his running mate, Mr. Silas Agara, revealed how the thought of being the only governor elected on the platform of the now defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) had made him feel like an orphan.

“As a political orphan, we survived nine impeachment attempts. We had only four out of 20 PDP members in the atate assembly. From CPC to APC, we have come a long way and now hope to have brothers in Benue, Plateau and Niger States,” he said, promising that he will personally lead one of Lalong’s campaign in Plateau State.

Meanwhile, Senator Olorunibe Mamora, who hinted that he got the invitation to the event late, said he attended nonetheless to show support for Lalong because he is a man of consistency and courage.

Mamora revealed that he and Lalong have been friends since 1999 when they served as Speakers of Lagos and Plateau assemblies respectively.

He called on Plateau people to come out en mass and vote for the APC governorship candidate, assuring that as governor, Lalong would transform the state.

It was gathered that over N30 million was raised at the event, and that notable people like the former deputy governor of Plateau State Pauline Tallen, Hon. Lumumba Adeh, who was a former member of the House of Representatives and elder statesman Alhaji Ishyaku Ibrahim, among others.

It would be recalled that Kwankwaso, had earlier revealed why President Jonathan’s foot soldiers in Kano State are not campaigning for his re-election.

Meanwhile, Governor Almakura may presently be at logged head with some of his people and may not be enjoying the cult-like followership of some northern governors as it was reported that governor’s convoy were attacked by angry youths last week in Mararaba Gurku area of Karu local government area of the state.
